We highly commend you for going beyond the call of duty in handling the emergency that took place on (date). (Police department name) have notified us that if it weren’t for you and your quick thinking, (summary of the accident or incident) would have been much worse.
We commend your quick reaction. People who were affected by the accident are now safe, thanks to your intervention.
