While returning to Chicago after spending Thanksgiving in Wisconsin, I made a brief pit stop somewhere in Illinois. My headlights are shining on the base of the tree. I find that many of my favorite photographs tend to be taken in forlorn spaces, the nondescript middleground often passed on the way to somewhere else.
